Tobie Smith, MD, MPH
Founder and Executive Director
Tobie is a Family Physician who has been providing medical care for persons experiencing homelessness for over a decade. She previously was a Medical Director at Health Care for the Homeless in Baltimore, MD, and has volunteered with free health clinics in Texas, Maryland and Washington, DC. She is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at Georgetown School of Medicine, where she is faculty advisor for the Georgetown HOYA student-run free clinic and Georgetown Street Medicine Outreach.

Emili Delp, MD

Emili is a family medicine and primary care physician at Unity Healthcare in Washington DC. She did her residency training at Medstar Health/Georgetown-Washington Hospital Center and was a health policy scholar with a focus on substance use and unsheltered homeless healthcare. She is a graduate of Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (MD) and University of Pittsburgh (BA). Her practice focuses on harm reduction and meeting the patient where they are. This means always supporting the health of patients on their terms, whether they are ready to reduce substance use or continue using, and going to meet them where they are physically living, on the street or in a tent. She is a strong advocate for housing as a human right and that housing is healthcare!

Vince Keane

Vince Keane is the Principal of Keane Consulting Services (KCS) which provides support to non-profit agencies with a particular focus on community health. He has extensive experience in leading large non-profit organizations, including 20 years as CEO of Unity Health Care in Washington, DC. His leadership skills in the field of community health, and non-profit management is recognized nationwide

Shannon Smith, MBA

Shannon has extensive experience in sales, marketing, and business development. He has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Entrepreneurial Marketing & Management from the Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. Additionally, Shannon holds a Master's degree in Economics from New York University. Shannon also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics from the University at Albany, SUNY.

Xerxeser Kayode, MHA, BSN, RN

Xerseser has worked within the community health and healthcare fields for over 10 years. Before joining Georgetown University's Family Medicine Department, she volunteered as a community health promoter/navigator and was eventually employed as the Deputy Project Director of a community-based organization in Maryland where she gained increased interest and expertise in healthcare administration and policies, health disparities, underserved populations, and maternal and child health issues. Xerxeser is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies where she received her Masters of Science degree in Health Systems Administration. Her capstone was titled Exploring Healthcare Seeking Behaviors and Barriers in the Homeless Street-Dwelling Population in Urban Areas of the District of Columbia. She also graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Trinity University in Washington D.C. For fun, Xerxeser loves to volunteer, bake traditional pastries and enjoy live music concerts.

Braden Remington

Braden is a graduate from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a customized MPH focused on epidemiology, humanitarian health, and health finance and did his practicum experience with Street Health DC. Prior to this experience, he worked as a Maternal and Child Health Volunteer in rural Rwanda with the Peace Corps and for California's Department of Social Services on homelessness initiatives. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, backpacking, and trying new cuisines.

Alex Abramson
Alex is involved in medical outreach and community engagement within the organization. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Stevenson University, a Master of Arts in Biomedical Studies from Chatham University, and is pursuing her Masters degree in Public Health from The George Washington University. Alex is dedicated to fostering positive change through a holistic and preventative approach to medicine and bridging healthcare access and education in communities affected by health disparities stemming from social, economic, and environmental factors.

Loren Kimmel
My name is Loren Kimmel, and I have been a volunteer with Street Health DC for two years now. I assist on weekly rounds with engaging patients and providing supplies. I am a certified nursing assistant and have worked as a scribe and medical assistant for many years. With Street Health DC, I want to use my background and grow our role of patient navigation as we help connect people to the care we can’t provide on rounds, making this transition as approachable and accessible as possible. I earned my bachelor’s in biomedical science from Auburn University, my masters of physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University, and am currently applying to medical schools with the goal of becoming a street medicine physician.

Daliya Rizvi
Daliya is an undergraduate premedical student at Duke University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Immuno-oncology and Ethics. Based in Vienna, VA, Daliya has been involved with both clinical rounds and outreach efforts at Street Health DC, playing a role in the organization’s partnership with the Thrive DC women’s group. She has a passion for health equity and empowerment, and has developed health education programs (particularly focusing on female empowerment) in Karachi, Pakistan. In Durham, Daliya is involved with local nonprofit organizations that work to address the social determinants of health via nutrition and social support in the unhoused community. She is beyond excited to be a small part of the work done here at Street Health DC!

Program Development Manager - Intern
Brooke McKalip
Brooke is an undergraduate student at The University of Arizona, majoring in environmental public health. Originally from Washington, D.C., she has dedicated her last two summers to interning with Street Health DC. There, Brooke has supported the development of projects such as mobile HIV testing and Health Navigator programs. Her experience in advocacy and education in sexual and domestic violence prevention has been instrumental in designing innovative reproductive health initiatives for the organization.
In both Tucson and D.C., Brooke has been deeply involved in supporting unhoused populations. She is an active volunteer at shelters, clinics, and food pantries, contributing actively to community welfare. At The University of Arizona, she is an engaged member of Street Medicine Tucson. Her contributions include participating in projects focused on mobile HIV testing and conducting environmental health research to aid the local unhoused community.

Brielle Dotson
Brielle is a critical care registered nurse in the Medical ICU at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital with extensive experience in academic research, advocacy for underserved populations, and direct patient care. She grew up in Arizona and came out to the East Coast to attend the University of Virginia where she got her undergrad in kinesiology and her masters in nursing. She is a fully admitting coffee addict and loves to paint in her free time. She is passionate about helping individuals explore their health and wellness both in the hospital and in her community.

Michael Nirula
My name is Michael. I am a volunteer involved in Street Health DC, where I help with our medical inventory, HIV testing program and blood sugar monitoring. Previously, I have worked with Habitat for Humanity. I am passionate about helping unhoused patients with both medical care and their path to permanent housing.

Intern
Meghan Anderson
Meghan is a clinical research assistant for the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Institute of Human Virology. Research studies she works on focus on infectious diseases and substance use among marginalized populations, including people who inject drugs, sexual and gender minorities, and individuals involved in sex work. Inspired by her team’s collaboration with HIPS, Meghan joined Street Health DC to engage more directly in community outreach. As a volunteer, she participates in clinical rounds and assists with medical inventory. She is committed to advancing health equity and is excited to help expand Street Health DC’s impact.
